"Were not a bunch of idiots and drunks," says Neill Steinke, singer-songwriter for Eight Days Gone. "Were just really nice guys with different musical maturity than the teenage angst-ridden rock being shoved down the publics throat. This is a time and a generation looking for what were doing--guitar rock thats soulful, sincere and intimate, that goes beyond the surface and makes a connection."

For this band from off the beaten path, Pennsylvanias Lehigh Valley (the biggest city being Allentown), the road to their second independent album, "Silence To The Naysayers" (Ragin Grace Music) has been a struggle. The band has lost money, lost time, lost relationships and, in one case, nearly lost fingers. "Some in the music industry just dont get it. But we know we have something special," says Steinke, "and we wont give up."

Living at the base of a mountain, Steinke and drummer John Zadeh risked going broke for a fourth time, took out a loan and gutted an abandoned trailer which was left in the middle of a landfill, turning it into the recording studio where they crafted their latest album. The seclusion enabled Steinke to craft a folk based album with heavy guitars and pounding drums that has a storytelling type of feel. Produced by Joe Smith, the Orlando-based producer/engineer whose name appears on albums that have sold a combined 100 million copies, "Silence To The Naysayers" follows a pair of self-produced efforts, 2002s "In The Absence Of Subtlety" (an album produced, recorded and paid for entirely by the band) and 2003s "303 Sessions" EP. "Joe wanted to do a record like this for a long time" says Steinke. "He believes in what were doing and called in a lot of favors for us."

None of the members of Eight Days Gone were actually born in Pennsylvania. Neil Steinke (named after Neil Diamond, believe it or not) was born in Seattle, John Zadeh in New Mexico, bassist Gary Bonneau in Brooklyn, and lead guitarist Steve Miceli in Delaware. Steinke moved 24 times before his family finally settled in the Lehigh Valley. By that time, the one-time drummer discovered Nirvana and Van Morrison and had picked up his mothers acoustic guitar and began writing songs.

Meeting each other in high school, Steinke and Zadeh quickly began collaborating together. After high school, the two decided to try out the burgeoning music scene in Wisconsin where they quickly maxed out their credit cards. "I wouldnt change that experience for the world," says Zadeh. "I rather learn tearing it up in the clubs in a foreign town then wasting away in the some garage going nowhere. However, down on their luck, they decided to go back to PA and give music one last shot. Ingredients:

• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon stick.

• 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice.

• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg clove.

• 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves.

• 6 tablespoons of fresh drawn butter.

• 2 cups of packed cane or natural sugar.

• 1 cup of dark rum or a tip more.
• 2 cups of hot espresso coffee or x4 strength dark coffee.

• Lots unless you insist of "fresh" whipped cream don't make me come over there.

• Grated orange and a twist for garnish. Reserve a touch of espresso for garnish as well.
  

• Reserve a little spice to garnish or mix a little extra. tip: your cup up-side down and dip it in the sauce pan; it is sweet and helps to coat the cup in spices.

• Combine spices in small sauce pan and mix in butter until bubbling and add sugar slowly to pan until bubbly. Remove from heat for a couple minutes and add half the rum Wisk gently for a second.

• Season your cup in spices one half of the rim as well, Divide the remaining rum, and top with piping hot coffee. Garnish with Lot’s of very fresh whipped cream and your orange twist. Makes 6 cups if you leave room for the whipped cream add more coffee to lighten it up a bit. ....drizzle a touch of espresso on the top or anything else like liqueur.

The essence of the plan is in the personal standards of the management team, the quality of the staff we build, the procedures, the service standards and ultimately the client’s perception of the deliverables. The Plan is dedicated to developing staff through training and will do so in part by providing all operations, orientation, sanitation, recipe and procedural manuals. The benefits of such a plan include the efficient use of resources and a plan that is more apt to produce the desired results. The primary goal of the plan is to structure a program that both operates efficiently and generates enough sales to meet and exceed the corporation's goals.

With our mutual acceptance of this strategic plan and desire to produce a preliminary operations guide, a document will be drawn up that outlines in detail, the “Company” the exact time lines, operations schedules and including a memorandum of understanding.
